This film’s true magic lies in its half-documentary nature. I scripted certain scenes to reflect the school’s culture, but the girls themselves are real students of North London Collegiate School — they’re not acting, they’re simply being.
You can plan some moments, but you can’t manufacture the honesty of youth. My role was to stay flexible — sometimes almost invisible — and to witness the small, authentic details that make the film feel so free, real, and unfiltered
